Literature Text

I still see the flowers and your chest,

I still find marks, you left with every kiss,

It still feels like I’m staring from a cage,

It’s still like what’s past will be the very best.

I still dream of, my fingers on your lips,

I fight to savor every moment, you thought was bliss,

Your presence still floats like a ghost,

A noisy spirit I just want to dismiss.

So hold your bones against my chest,

Forgive me if I lay you to rest,

My innocence was taken long ago,

If it’s up to me I’d sooner let you go.

So save your time I will not hear,

You said forever but I can’t have you near,

The toughest part is digging your grave,

But I believe the burial will wash away the years.
